What is Mosaya?

Mosaya is an online tool which enables users to build a web gallery / store.

What do I need before I can start building my own web gallery / store on Mosaya?


If you are not selling anything on Mosaya, then you don't need any tools at all. You may want to use your own HTML designing tool such as DreamWeaver, but it is not necessary. If you are selling online, you need to set up a Paypal account that can accept online payments. A Paypal account is free. When you receive a payment via Paypal, a small transaction fee is deducted before the fund is deposited into your bank account.

After build my store, how do I get paid from my customers?

Mosaya uses Paypal as the payment processing system. When your customers make payments, all payment information will be forwarded to Paypal to be processed. Mosaya does NOT handle any payment processing between your store and your customers.

What is a item category?


In a Mosaya online store, as in most other online stores such as Amazon, items are organized in categories and subcategories. Just like folders, in your computer, categories are used to organize items into logical groups to make it easier for your customers to find them.

What is a custom item type?


When you are creating a item in Mosaya, you are provided some standard fields such as "Name" and "Price". You will input the values for these fields to describe your items. However, you may want give values for some fields that are not provided by Mosaya. For instance, you might be building a store to sell clothes, and you want fields like "Color", "Size" or "Materials" to better describe the merchandise. In order to create your own fields, you must create your own item type. In the case of this example, you may want to create a item type called "Clothes". Then you can add your own fields to this item type. After you have created your own item type, you can create items of the new type by selecting it on the create item page.
